The seed project combines the two most popular trends in technology today: artificial intelligence and blockchain. SEED is an independent, decentralized marketplace for developers and deployers of conversational user interfaces (CUIs).
Seed recognized a few important challenges faced by CUIs:
- CUI architecture is complicated and must be prepared to handle multi-modal data and interaction.
- It must address context, socially-appropriate behaviors, context-awareness, and transparency
- CUIs need to be able to inspire trust in both people and developers
The Seed Project believes that the best way to solve these problems is to integrate it with blockchain technology. They aim to solve the problem of trust. While privacy isn’t a feature of blockchain technology yet, pseudonymity is. It’s possible for a blockchain-based solution to allow users to mediate specific data they share along the spectrum of public to private. They aim to create a democratic platform where authentication, smart contracts, payments, and ratings are measured in order to reward quality, positive actors in the SEED economy and guard against negative ones. They are currently headed by a strong development team from all over the globe.
Their website has an interesting feature called the SEED bot. The bot takes you through the platform of SEED and shows how the project aims to turn their idea into reality. The bot demonstrates a future economy that promises greater transparency and a conversational user interface (CUI) marketplace that will compensate all participants more fairly. It points to a less oppressive future in this area where blockchain can help solve the most fundamental problems.
The seed token will also be handled by two main interfaces: the seed greenhouse and the seed wallet. The seed greenhouse is aimed at developers to create the service and has several features to aid this process. It lets developers upload components to marketplaces, set licensing terms, rate components and also includes social media functions to create a community. On the other hand, the seed wallet is aimed at users who wish to store and transfer their token, view their balance, and perhaps use it for speculative purposes.
The SEED Project has launched their token- SEED token. It is an ERC-20 token that is currently in its pre-sale stage. The final quarter of 2018 focuses on further development. It aims to develop privacy tools into the SEED wallet as well as work on community management tools before the end of the year. The final launch will take place in the first quarter of 2019 where it will partner with developers to launch additional stores and services while sponsoring further tool and IT development.
The project looks quite promising and is supported by a number of use cases. A few are buying and selling CUI data, customer service and branded CUI personality. It’s an interesting project to look into specifically for people who are already well-versed with AI and are looking to help solve some of the biggest problems in the industry.
